Ladies Home Journal and the State of the Candiates Unions

A survey conducted by the Ladies Home Journal found that 35% of American women believe the state of a candidate’s marriage will influence how they vote. 13% said it would affect their vote a great deal and 22% said is somewhat affect their vote.

So who do American women believe is the happiest couple??? *drum roll, please* John and Elizabeth Edwards!!!!

Here is the poll break down and where the other candidates fell into place:

John and Elizabeth Edwards, 52%
Barack and Michelle Obama, 43%
John and Cindy McCain, 35%
Rudy and Judith Giuliani, 34%
Hillary and Bill Clinton, 29%
Mitt and Ann Romney, 24%
Fred and Jeri Thompson, 20%
Bill and Barbara Richardson, 12%

Interestingly enough Hillary and Bill beat Mitt and Ann Romney in this poll, despite the Clintons’ known marital problems and Romney’s happen to be the longest married out of all the couples and they have the most children.

So what should be more important to voters, the state of the Union or the state of their union?

Nice conclusion *thumbs up*. i think the ladies home journal is absurd. There are plenty of perfectly capable people who have been divorced and tons of married ones who can't find their way out of a paper bag. I understand to an extent why marital problems could be a bad sign... if you can't be diplomatic at home, how can you do it for a country? But, I really don't think its a valid reason to vote for one candidate over another.
